A Good Online Dictionary

What does "fish" mean?  How do you say this word?

Google translate is one option. Here is a different option: the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary. This dictionary is for intermediate and advanced students... but basic students can use it too!

Put your word in here:

The dictionary gives you pronunciation - just click BrE for British English (England) or NAmE for North American English (Canada, United States) and listen to the dictionary say the word!
Many words have pictures, plus the plural, example sentences, expressions that use the word, other information, and similar or related words.

Next time you see a word you don't know, don't use Google Translate. Try this dictionary instead!

How do you describe Brazilian food in English?

If you need to translate a menu into English, the Internet is a good source of examples to help you find the right language. Here are two examples of menus for Brazilian restaurants located in English-speaking countries.

This one is the Brazilian food menu from a restaurant called The Latin Chef in San Diego, USA which serves Peruvian and Brazilian food.

And this one is from a Brazilian restaurant in Dublin, Ireland called Taste of Brazil:

If you find other example menus online that help you, please post them below! They will help other students, too.
